This year's continental event will take place in Bamako, Mali from August 18-27, and the reigning champions have been drawn in Group B along with Nigeria, Egypt, Mozambique, Guinea and the DR Congo.

The winners and runners-up will represent Africa at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018 in Spain.
