Who were the top performers in week 1 of the Playoffs in WASL?

BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The first week of the Playoffs in both WASL - Gulf and WASL - West Asia has begun with the Qualification to the Semi-Finals underway.

And the stars are already in full gear to produce some of their best games to get their teams to the next stage.

Here are some of the top performers from this past week in WASL!

Qais Omar Alshabebi (SAH)

29 points, 14-22 FG, 6 REB, 27 EFF

In the last game of the Group Phase, Alshabebi recorded his WASL career-high of 15 rebounds. In the first game of the Playoffs, Alshabebi recorded his WASL career-high in points with 29. It's his first time topping at least 20 points this season, though he has reach double-digits in every game so far as well.

Assane Boye (SAH)

25 points, 12-16 FG, 11 rebounds, 4 assists

With leading scoring Nick Minnerath out for Shabab Al Ahli, they needed Assane Boye to step up. Logging his first double-double with career-highs in points (first time scoring over 20 points), rebounds, and assists seemed enough.

Ricky Ledo (MUH)

22 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 22 EFF

Bader Malabes (MUH)

16 points, 3 three-pointers made, 3 assists, 14 EFF

Muharraq fell behind be too much in the first quarter and failed to finish strong as well, even if Ledo and Malabes put in a decent effort.

Clint Chapman (KZM)

19 points, 9-18 FG, 16 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks, 29 EFF

Chapman has just been on a tear over these past few months. This outing was actually his lowest EFF in the past four games where he's strung together games of 36, 42, and 42 EFF.

Ahmad Albalouishi (KZM)

11 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 18 EFF

The 33-year-old has been flying under the radar as WASL-Gulf's leader in assists. Another big game with his highest rebound total this season.

Mouhammad Faye (RYN)

13 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 26 EFF

Not enough firepower around Faye in this game, so they'll have to fight to keep their hopes of advancing alive in the next game.

Delwan Graham (SHO)

16 points, 8-12 FG, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 28 EFF

One of Graham's best game yet, coming at a good time where Al Shorta really needed a win - their second of the season.

Ali Ismael (SHO)

10 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals, 18 EFF

This was a good game from the national team veteran as well! This was Ismael's first double-double of the season and a whopping 4 steals was quite impressive, too.

Jeremy Kendle (AHL)

23 points, 5 three-pointers made, 5 assists, 17 EFF

Mohamad Bilal Atli (AHL)

11 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 12 EFF

Coming off a national team debut and a strong Group Phase display, it would have been nice for Al Ittihad Ahli to see an explosive performance that led to a win. This wasn't a bad game, but they'll need more from their star and from Kendle, who actually had a better second game in WASL.

Ahmad Ibrahim (SAG)

32 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 34 EFF

There might not have been anyone who had a better week than Ibrahim who certainly had his best WASL outing so far. Hats off to you, good sir.

Deng Acuoth (SAG)

12 points, 3-4 FG, 2 steals, 3 blocks, 19 EFF

With Ibrahim carrying the load on offense, Sagesse just needed someone to anchor the defense and Acuoth provided just that.

John Crosby (WHD)

7 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists, 16 EFF

Majd Arbasha (WHD)

16 points, 5-11 FG, 14 EFF

Crosby's debut was interesting with him nearly recording a double-double without reaching 10 points. Maybe they'll have a better chance if he and Arbashi can find the bottom of the net a bit more.
