REZE (2015 FIBA U19 Women's World Championship) - Yet another exciting product on the conveyor belt of talent coming out of Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje has helped Russia win the prestigious Reze International Tournament.
While all the talk ahead of the FIBA U19 Women's World Championship has been about the threat that will be posed by the twin towers of Zhosselina Maiga and Tatiana Sema for the host nation, it was Raisa Musina who stole the show in France.
The Sparta&K frontcourt star racked up a double-double after amassing 12 points and the same number of rebounds as Russia beat France West 68-52 in the final game of the Reze competition to remain unbeaten.
Musina certainly proved to be a thorn in the side of the French after pouring in 18 points against their East Team, along with 15 points against Belgium.
France had opted to split their candidate list for next month's tournament in Chekhov and Vidnoe into two teams.
It meant that a focused Russia had little difficulty in sailing to the top of the podium after a scorching 14-3 start to the final contest as they utilised their presence in the paint. Meanwhile another Sparta&K player in Kseniia Levchenko pulled the strings in the backcourt and added 13 points in the triumph.
Meanwhile, Belgium came second after winning both games against the respective France teams.
They were led by Julie Allemand who had a sparkling 15 points, 10 rebounds and six assists against the East team in a narrow 60-56 triumph, while Eva Devliegher torched the West team with five triples in a 54-44 victory.
