VALENCIA (Spain) - Current EuroCup Women title holders Valencia BC have fittingly become the first club to progress beyond the Regular Season after they secured a Play-Off Round 1 spot.

They sealed the deal with two games still to play as they extended their unbeaten run to 4-0 in Group I with a 67-42 home victory against Belgian side Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen.

However they didn't have it all their own way, with the visitors holding a shock 31-29 lead at the break. But the second half saw Valencia click through the gears and they snapped the game open with a 20-5 third period.

Australian forward Bec Allen top scored with 14 points, while guard Angela Salvadores netted 13 points. Ae'Rianna Harris impressed in defeat for Kangoeroes with 13 points and 9 rebounds.

More EuroCup Women clubs will have the chance to join Valencia BC in the next phase during coming days and weeks.

The top two teams from each group, plus the four best third-placed teams from each of the two conferences (eight in total) will advance to the Play-Off Round 1.
