BEIRUT (FIBA U16 Asian Championship) - FIBA has announced a change of venue and dates for the FIBA U16 Asian Championship. The new location for the event will be Foshan, China, and the competition will be played from April 2-8.

The competition was scheduled to be played in Dalang, China from March 26-April 1, 2018.

The 16-team tournament will serve as Asia's qualifier for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018, with the top four finishers booking their tickets for the world spectacle in Rosario and Santa Fe, Argentina from June 30-July 8, 2018.

The 16 teams qualified to compete are hosts China, reigning champions Korea, Australia, Bahrain, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines and Saudi Arabia.
