Go-time for Team Canada candidates
TORONTO (FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup) - The coming days are going to be pivotal for Canada as 24 hopefuls head into camp hoping to wrap up a ticket to the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup.
Under the watchful eye of head coach Carly Clarke, the candidates will fight it out for a place on the final roster that will travel to Udine and Cividale del Friuli.

Laeticia Amihere | Angela Bongomin | Halle Bovell | Mikaela Brewer |
Hailey Brown | Mikaela Dodig | Sarah Donovan | Libby Epoch |
Louise Forsyth | Emma Fraser | Hanna Hall | Taya Hanson |
Alyssa Jerome | Justina King | Aislinn Konig | Myriam Leclerc |
Roxane Makolo | Summer Masikewich | Bridget Mulholland | Shaina Pellington |
Kyla Shand | Sage Stobbart | Andrea Torres | Kendra van Leeuwen |
A number of key players will be expected to make the team, including some hugely talented younger members of the squad such as Laeticia Amihere who was sensational at last year's FIBA U17 Women's World Championship in Zaragoza.
Her athleticism is likely to be key this time around and if she can get anywhere near to the phenomenal 12.5 points and 13 rebounds per game harvested during 2016, Canada will have a solid foundation to build from.
Similarly, Alyssa Jerome lands on Italian soil with a growing reputation, having led her country in both scoring and rebounding at the FIBA Americas U18 Women's Championship when Canada finished with a silver medal.
Aislinn Konig and Mikaela Brewer also excelled in that competition in Valdivia.
Canada will be looking to improve on their eighth place finish at the last edition in Chekhov and Vidnoje, when they managed only two wins from their seven outings.
They are scheduled to face France, Korea and Latvia during the first-phase.
