TORONTO (FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup) -  Canada have halved the 24 candidates at a recent training camp to produce their final roster for the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup.

Laeticia Amihere, Hailey Brown and Alyssa Jerome are three of the leading names who made the cut for this month's trip to Udine and Cividale del Friuli.

"We look forward to seeing these athletes build on their previous international experience and compete against the best in the world within their age-group.”

Amihere stood out at last year's FIBA U17 Women's World Championship in Zaragoza as she amassed a stellar 12.5 points and 13 rebounds per game at the event.

Meanwhile Brown almost accumulated a tournament double-double at the FIBA Americas U18 Women's Championship and Jerome is a potential difference maker.

Canada will go up against France, Korea and Latvia during the initial group phase.
