QUARTER-FINALS

Canada v Italy

Canada have still not lost and this could be a game decided in the paint, with both sides strong in the frontcourt. Italy will be relieved they have been given a second chance after almost slipping up against Mali. This is their first-ever Quarter-Final at the event.

China v Spain

Spain are perfect after four outings and on track for a third consecutive Final in the competition, while China are in the Last Eight for the second time after taking third place at the inaugural edition in 2010.

Australia v Czech Republic

Australia are bidding to grab a Semi-Final spot for the first time, although the unbeaten Sapphires will be wary of the danger posed by the European U16 champions who reached the Last Four on home soil in Pilsen two years ago.

France v USA

While it has not been straightforward with a close shave against Italy, the USA have still not lost in the competition since its inception six years ago and are looking to become four-time champions. France have some strong defence and it will need to be at its very best to keep within touching distance.

CLASSIFICATION 9-16

Mexico v Korea

Something will give when these teams meet, since neither has a win to their name so far in Zaragoza.

Mali v Latvia

The history makers go up against each other, with Mali having recorded an unprecedented second win from an African nation. Latvia come into this one after collecting their first-ever success - at the fourth attempt.

Japan v Portugal

Japan are on a roll after a big win against Brazil and Portugal are hoping that a day's rest will help them shed the memory of a poor shooting peformance in the Round of 16 against Czech Republic.
