LEON (Mexico) – Brazilian center Kamilla Soares once again had an excellent showing, and for the second day in a row she was among the most outstanding players at the 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup, currently being played in Leon, Guanajuato (Mexico).

Soares had the day's best performance with a 33 efficiency rating after notching 15 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 blocks and a steal in Brazil's second win, this time against Venezuela, 90-76.

Sunday was marked by dominance in the paint. Canada's center Kayla Alexander also shined in her debut with a 10-point, 18-rebound double-double. The 32-year-old veteran added an assist and a block in Canada's comfortable victory over Mexico, 83-57. She had an efficiency of 21.

American center Lauren Betts also took a step forward and was instrumental in the United States' 65-56 win over Argentina. The 19-year-old had a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double and added an assist and a block for an efficiency of 18.

Shay Colley, Alexander's teammate for Team Canada, also went off on Sunday. The point guard dropped 19 points, including 4 three-pointers. She rounded out her stat sheet with 4 assists and a steal for an efficiency of 17.

Soares wasn't the only one who dominated for the second day in a row, as Puerto Rico's Arella Guirantes did the same. The shooting guard led her team's offense in their 73-47 win over Dominican Republic in the Caribbean derby. The Seattle Storm's player finished with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and a block for a 14 efficiency score.
