Senegal keep Olympic roster for FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017 preparations
DAKAR (FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017) - Senegal have selected 22 players for the second phase of their FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017 preparations, the Senegalese Basketball Federation announced on Monday.
Four weeks after completing a training camp in China, where they lost all their three friendly games against the hosts, head coach Moustapha Gaye has named all but three players who featured at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

While Olympians Bintou Dieme, Lala Wane and Marie-Sadio Rosche have been left out of the preliminary squad, Gaye called up a number of new faces including Aminata Fall, who recently joined Australian side Canberra Capitals.
Astou Traore, Aya Traore, Mame Marie Sy and Maimouna Diarra - a quartet who played a major role in Senegal's FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2015 title - are set to return after missing the China tour.

This year's continental event will take place in Bamako, Mali from August 18-27, and the reigning champions have been drawn in Group B along with Nigeria, Egypt, Mozambique, Guinea and the DR Congo.
The winners and runners-up will represent Africa at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018 in Spain.
