Cameroon snatch up only African ticket to FIBA U17 Women's Skills Challenge 2020

MIES (Switzerland) - The FIBA U17 Women's Skills Challenge 2020 African Qualifiers, taking place from August 11-15, features eight national teams competing for the lone ticket to the Global Challenge to be held later in August.

Day 4 - Friday, August 15

Cameroon joined the ever-growing list of qualified teams for the FIBA U17 Women's Skills Challenge, emerging victorious against Tunisia in the Final to secure the only available ticket to the Global Challenge in dramatic fashion.

Having topped their Tunisian rivals 150-157, Cameroon stepped up in a big way by registering their personal best score in the decisive matchup.

Day 3 - Friday, August 14

Tunisia and Cameroon advanced to the last day of action in the African Qualifiers, with the higher-ranked Tunisia knocking out Mauritius 159-185 and Cameroon upsetting the top-seeded Uganda 158-173 on the other side of the bracket.

The two Semi-Final winners will face off in the Final to determine the one team that qualifies for the Global Challenge.

Day 2 - Wednesday, August 12

The African Qualifiers switched to knock-out mode after Wednesday's action, with Tunisia, Cameroon, Uganda and Mauritius moving into the Semi-Finals, as they continue to battle for the only remaining qualification spot to the Global Challenge.

In the Semi-Finals, Group A winners Tunisia will face off against Mauritius, with Group B winners Uganda will try and defend its higher seed against Cameroon. The winners of the Semi-Finals will move on to Saturday's Final.

 The matchups between Chad v Niger and Zimbabwe and Central African Republic did not take place as both teams in the respective matchups forfeited.
