Gold medal heroes Lasmanis and Plum top 3x3 Olympic scoring charts

TOKYO (Japan) - Gold medal heroes Karlis Lasmanis and Kelsey Plum rose on the grand Olympic stage to be the leading scorers in the men's and women's competitions in Tokyo.

Lasmanis hit an incredible two to power Latvia past ROC in the men's gold medal game and cap off a dazzling Olympics, where he scored 76 points from 10 games. He lifted when it mattered most having also scored 9 points in Latvia's easy win over Belgium in the semi-finals.

He overtook pool stage leader Jinqui Hu from China, who scored 65 points from just 7 games, including a remarkable 17 of 18 points against Latvia to underline the 23-year-old's star power.

Thibaut Vervoort rounded out the top three with 61 points and was one of the standouts in the tournament after hitting a trio of game-winners from deep as underdog Belgium just missed a podium finish.

In the women's, Plum came out on top with 55 points from 9 games and her aggressiveness early in the gold medal game against ROC ignited USA.
