This was the second time in as many games that the Women Boomers limited their opponents to single-digit following a massive 144-9 win over Guam in the opener.

Paige Price spearheaded the way with 15 points and six rebounds for Australia which ran away with a 36-0 run in the first quarter alone.

Australia never looked behind from there as Kelsey Rees added 14 while Olivia Pollerd and Kate Deeble chipped in 11 each time for solid support to Price.

Kalista Niu and Shayle Coulter Faamafu were the only scorers for Samoa with 5 and 3 points, respectively.

Owing to their 35-93 loss to New Zealand in Day 1, the Samoans slipped to 0-2 in Group A.

Tahiti beats New Caledonia, 64-54

Tahiti kept its slate unblemished after fending off New Caledonia, 64-54, in the Day 2 of the 2019 FIBA U17 Oceania Championship Women's Division.

Tahiti leaned on a 25-point, 20-rebound, two-block performance of Tearere Richmond to score a close win and firm up its position in Group B with a 2-0 card.

Hereiti Salem and Mahinetea Keany Viriamu logged in 13 and 12 respectively to provide key support for Tahiti which smothered Papua New Guinea, 78-29 in the opener.
