CIEGO DE AVILA – With the Cuban National U15 Men's and Women's Championship as backdrop, the Referee Department of the International Basketball Federation in the Americas held the FIBA Americas National Referees Camp in Cuba from July 14-18.

16 national referees, 8 newcomers and 5 table officers traveled from 11 provinces of Cuba to Ciego de Ávila, where they received valuable lessons from FIBA Americas Referee Director Mr. Geraldo Fontana.

The objectives of the Referee Camp were the unification of criteria and the analysis of the emphasis points for 2017, but at the same time the Referees Department identified new talents for the upcoming future.

The Referee Development of National Federations Program will continue with clinics throughout the continent of the Americas.
