Israel celebrate double success at FIBA U15 Skills Challenges 2021

MIES (Switzerland) - The FIBA U15 Skills Challenges 2021 concluded with Israel celebrating double success by winning both the men's and women's events.

Israel recorded a thrilling 107-108 victory over Mongolia in the men's Final to capture the men's FIBA U15 Skills Challenge 2021 title, whilst also winning the FIBA U15 Women's Skills Challenge 2021 with a convincing 111-130 success against Belarus.

In the men's Third-Place Game, Bulgaria earned the final spot on the podium with a 101-114 victory over China.

Meanwhile, China earned a bronze medal in the women's event after edging out Poland on three-point shots countback after the two teams finished in a dramatic 120-120 tie.

105 teams participated in the Qualifiers across Africa, Americas, Asia & Oceania, and Europe, with the top 32 teams competing in the global stage of the men's and women's events.

The inaugural U15 Global Challenges followed the successful event script from the FIBA U17 Skills Challenges 2020, with the tournaments enabling National Team youth players to compete during the pandemic when no other FIBA international competitions took place.
