Game Directors workshop held ahead of Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers and FIBA WASL Season 3

AMMAN (JORDAN) - The FIBA Regional Office Asia organized a Game Directors' Workshop in Amman, Jordan, with the aim of preparing participants for the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers and the FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL).

Bringing together Game Directors from West Asia, Gulf and South Asia, the workshop focused on equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage and deliver games at major events.

Held on September 5th and 6th, the event offered valuable insights and hands-on experience to all attendees. On Day 2, participants toured the Prince Hamza Arena, the primary venue for the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024, to gain a deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities onsite.

Yasser Alani, Game Director from Iraq, representing the Air Defense Club and the Iraqi Basketball Association, highlighted the significance of the workshop:

“This workshop was very useful and helpful for both WASL and the Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers. We received updates on the latest matters related to game delivery and all relevant information that would facilitate our tasks. We would like to thank the FIBA Regional Office Asia team and the host, Jordan, for making this workshop possible during the FIBA U18 Asia Cup.”

Mahmood Taqawi, Game Director of Bahrain’s Manama Club, shared his experience:
“I’ve attended this workshop for three consecutive years, and each time, new organizational and administrative improvements are introduced. This year, we gained deeper insights into the updates for Season 3. As Manama Club, we have greatly benefited from these workshops, and this one will contribute to enhancing our overall game delivery for Season 3.”

A similar workshop will take place in Chengdu later this month for the Game Directors from East and South East Asia.
