Who are the favorites?
We just have to start with top seed Ub Huishan NE (SRB), who are back in business after taking out the Debrecen Masters in style.
It hasn't been an easy season for the spectacular Serbs, but you just know they are locked in as we approach the final stretch of 2024.
But they aren't the only World Tour 2024 winners, with Paris (FRA) playing in their first Masters since taking out the title in Lausanne.
Vienna (AUT) too already have a dub, but they aren't nearly content as the Austrians eye more success.
Riffa (BRN) have started to click after an indifferent start to 2024 and they are loaded with firepower led by Dennis Donkor, who is at the top of most World Tour stats.
Lausanne (SUI) and Liman (SRB) have gone close to titles this season and are itching for a breakthrough on the World Tour 2024. While Princeton (USA) are always a dangerous team because they have excitement machine Henry Caruso capable of going toe-to-toe with anyone.
Chongming (CHN) are emerging as a team of considerable force and will have plenty of fan support on their side. Cameron Forte is quickly becoming one of the most impossible players to stop and he'll team up with Nauris Miezis, who has a new partner-in crime.
We've already listed so many teams but just have to name defending champs Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL), who are out to defend a crown they won so memorably 12 months ago.
Legendary sniper Steve Sir will be out for back-to-back MVPs and if he heats up then the Mongolians might just be celebrating another dub in Shanghai.
Who are the players to watch?
Let's start with Nico Kaltenbrunner with the Europe Cup MVP having been on a tear recently. He is starting to get used to winning trophies and it's a taste he just can't get enough of.
Kaltenbrunner will be in for a fight because Paris superstar Franck Seguela has been in the form of his life after winning Olympic silver followed up by MVP in Lausanne.
Superstar Strahinja Stojacic is not in Shanghai, but he has the perfect replacement in older sibling Stefan Stojacic, who won MVP in Chengdu.
Ub teammate Dejan Majstorovic has won almost everywhere in the world, but he steps onto the half-court for the first time in Shanghai and it's a fresh challenge he can't wait to attack.
If you want to see some crazy tricks look no further then speedster Gilles Martin, while Stefan Kojic might be able to heat up rainy Shanghai if this famous Liman Chef gets cookin' from deep.
