  • 'Mão Santa'('Holy Hand') is arguably the most prolific scorer in the history of basketball: 49,737 points scored over his entire club and national team career; top scorer in the history of the Olympic Games (1,093 points in total); top scorer in 3 Olympic Games (Seoul 1988 -averaging 42.3 points per game-, Barcelona 1992 and Atlanta 1996); top scorer of the 1990 World Championship in Argentina; single-game records of points scored in both the Olympic Games (55 points, vs. Spain, in Seoul 1988) and the World Championships (52 points, vs. Australia, in Argentina 1990); many seasons top scorer of the Brazilian, Italian and Spanish leagues... and a very large etcetera.
