MUNICH (EuroCup Women) - Good Angels Kosice secured the final spot in the Last 16 after beating Olympiacos to go through as runners-up in Group D.

The Slovak side needed to better an 85-78 defeat in Greece when the two teams met last month and they did so with a 72-59 victory to claim the head-to-head.

Teja Oblak top scored with 22 points to help lead her side into the next round.

"We were consistent throughout the game and we deserved to win today," said Barbora Balintova.

"I am glad we won by more than seven points, which was necessary to do.

"We are happy to get through to the next round from this incredibly tough group."

There was a thriller in Cegled as Shay Doron poured in 36 points, including the game-winning three-point play in the final seconds to ensure Maccabi Bnot Ashdod topped Group A with an 81-82 triumph.

VBW Cekk Cegled had a five-point lead inside the final two minutes of the game before Doron scored eight points to propel her side to victory.

"It was a must-win game for us," declared Doron. "We had one loss in the EuroCup and we knew it would be a hard game. 

"I am happy that we were able to come out with the victory."

Meanwhile, Yakin Dogu Universitesi completed a perfect 6-0 record in their group after recording an emphatic 93-46 win at home to Aluinvent Miskolc.

Courtney Vandersloot tallied a double-double with 11 points and 12 assists, while Bahar Caglar led all scorers with 19 points.

Carolo Basket also made it six wins from six in their respective group with a 51-70 success on the road over TSV 1880 as Kim Mestdagh netted 26 points and Amel Bouderra dished out 11 assists.

Astou Ndour helped Virtus Eirene Ragusa pip Basketball Nymburk to top spot in Group E with a fine display of 27 points and 10 boards in a 53-58 win on the road.

TTT Riga finished Group C action in style with a comprehensive 35-94 victory away at Samsun Canik - who bow out with just one win from their six games.

Gunta Basko-Melnbarde impressed again with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists as her side take plenty of confidence into the next phase.

Sparta&K M.R Vidnoje picked up their second win with a 78-59 success over Hoptrans-Sirenos, while Santa Okockyte denied Lulea BBK a first win with a late three-pointer giving Umea Udominate a 73-71 victory.
