EuroLeague Women Final Four lineup confirmed
MUNICH (Germany) - There are four clubs remaining in the race for the coveted EuroLeague Women title, with Fenerbahce Safiport, Perfumerias Avenida, Sopron Basket and ZVVZ USK Praha winning their respective Quarter-Finals series to advance to the Final Four.
Last year's runners-up and 2011 champions Avenida were the last team to confirm their berth, coming out on top 74-65 in the all-decisive Game 3 clash against Spanish rivals Spar Girona at home in Salamanca on Saturday.
The tie between USK Praha and Beretta Famila Schio also went all the way, with the Czechs prevailing 2-1 in a closely contested series.
Meanwhile, the path to the Final Four proved less dramatic for Fenerbahce and Sopron, who celebrated sweeps against TTT Riga and BLMA in their respective Quarter-Finals.
Three of the four clubs still in contention were part of the end-of-season event last year, with USK Praha the lone addition, as the Natalia Hejkova-coached side return to this stage of the competition for the first time since 2019.
It was under coach Hejkova that the Prague club won its only EuroLeague Women title in 2015.
The 2022 edition will mark the fourth consecutive Final Four appearance for Sopron, while Fenerbahce and Avenida secured top four status for the second year in a row.
In the Semi-Finals, Avenida will take on Sopron, while Fenerbahce will play USK Praha.
The venue of the Final Four, set to take place from April 8-10, will be announced at a later stage.
