Dazzling Turner headlines Team of the Week

MUNICH (EuroLeague Women) – Yvonne Turner delivered her best performance of the season, as Sopron Basket kept their calm in a heated atmosphere in Pabellon Wurzburg to down Perfumerias Avenida 78-70.

The veteran guard demonstrated her class with a stat line of 26 points, 8 assists, 4 steals and 3 rebounds, registering a week-high efficiency rating of 34.

Joining her in the backcourt is TTT Riga's Sheylani Peddy after recording an efficiency of 33 to make her second appearance in the Top Performers. Peddy stuffed the boxscore with equally impressive figures, going for 23 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in Riga's 93-62 win over Carolo Basket.

Brionna Jones has been in fine fettle all season, and her efforts were finally rewarded as Nadezhda got off the mark in Group A with a 71-69 triumph over Castors Braine. The 22-year-old posted a double-double in each game so far, and there was no exception on Wednesday, with 24 points and 12 rebounds to her name.

The Team of the Week is rounded out by Maria Vadeeva and Glory Johnson, who carried their form from the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers over to club action. Reigning champions UMMC kept their perfect record intact with an 87-59 statement win over ZVVZ USK Praha, with Vadeeva accumulating 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Montenegro international Johnson helped Hatay get back on track after two consecutive losses, as they shut down visiting Olympiacos 71-55. The 28-year-old forward led the way with an all-action 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks.
