Warsaw passes the torch to Singapore following successful FIBA 3x3 World Cup hosting

After Warsaw's success, attention turns to Singapore in 2027

WARSAW (Poland) – As the curtain begins to fall on a memorable FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2026 in Warsaw, attention now turns to Singapore, the host of next year's flagship 3x3 basketball event.

Following seven days of world-class competition, packed crowds and unforgettable moments in the heart of the Polish capital, the traditional handover ceremony marked the transition from Warsaw 2026 to Singapore 2027.

Present at the ceremony were President of the Polish Basketball Federation Mr. Grzegorz Bachanski, FIBA Central Board Member Mr. Jean Michel Ramaroson and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Sport Singapore Mr. Daryl Yeo.

To symbolize the FIBA 3x3 World Cup as a truly global event, Mr. Bachanski, joined by Jean Michel Ramaroson, FIBA Central Board Member, presented the official FIBA 3x3 World Cup Passport to Mr. Yeo, representing Singapore's hosting of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2027.

The symbolic gesture marked the official transition of hosting responsibilities and the journey of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup to its next destination.

Poland delivered a fitting stage for the 10th edition of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup, welcoming the world's best men's and women's national teams to Parade Square (Plac Defilad) in downtown Warsaw. The event attracted tens of thousands of fans throughout the week and showcased the continued global growth of 3x3 basketball.

Now, the journey continues in Singapore.

The Southeast Asian nation has become one of the most important destinations on the international 3x3 basketball calendar in recent years. Singapore has successfully hosted multiple editions of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup (2022-2026) and earlier this year welcomed teams from around the world for the FIBA 3x3 World Cup Qualifier 2026.

Singapore's commitment to 3x3 basketball extends beyond the FIBA 3x3 World Cup. The Lion City will also host two FIBA 3x3 Challengers and one FIBA 3x3 Women's Series stop later this year. All these have further strengthened the country's role as a key hub for 3x3 basketball in Asia.

The FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2027 will continue the tournament's tradition of bringing the discipline's biggest event to iconic urban settings, while providing another opportunity for fans to experience the fast-paced and spectacular action that defines 3x3 basketball.

Before then, however, Warsaw will be remembered as the city that hosted a landmark 10th edition of the competition -- one filled with dramatic finishes, breakthrough performances and new chapters in the history of the game.

The countdown to Singapore 2027 starts now.
