    Ulinzi face City Oilers in final

    DAR ES SALAAM (FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2016) - Ulinzi of Kenya edged Rwandan side Patriots 64-62 in a heavily contested tie in the first semifinal to book a place in the coveted final

    DAR ES SALAAM(FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2016) - Ulinzi of Kenya edged Rwandan side Patriots 64-62,and will face City Oilers in the coveted Final at the FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2016 Zone 5 Qualifiers.

    For all their efforts in the first quarter, the game was tied at 18 up but the Kenyan champions established a seven-point lead by the Half-Time. 

    Veteran Ancet Wafula displayed his seniority in the hoops game and indeed his experience of decades paid off as he led his side to a hard-fought victory with dominance in the second half of the game. 

    Victor Odendo, Erick Mtoro and Wafula scored in double digits dropping 16, 13 and 12 respectively to inspire the military outfit to a win. 

    In the other Semi-Final, Ugandan champions City Oilers thrashed USIU Tigers of Kenya 76-34 to maintain the 100% winning record with five wins in five games.

    Shooting guard Jimmy Enabu scored 15 points while two-time Zone 5 MVP Landry Ndikumana added 12 points for the City Oilers. 

    Meanwhile, in the classification game for 7-8 places, ABC defeated Savio in the all-Tanzanian affair to secure seventh place. 

    South Sudanese sides Citizen and National Engineering that were scheduled to play the classification game to decide the positions 9-10 did not turn up for the tie forcing the game to be forfeited.
