    KIGALI (24th FIBA Africa Champions Club for Men) - Defending champion of the FIBA Africa Champions Club for Men, Primero de Agosto basketball club of Angola will on Sunday began its title defence against Congo Brazzaville Interclub on Sunday.

    The group-B opening game on match Day-1 will be a test game for both sides but much burden will be on the Congolese side as they will be taking to the floor as the under-dog giving the pedigree of the Angolan side.

    The game comes up at 13h00, other games billed for match Day-1 includes another group-B pairing between Cooperative Bank of Kenya and Warriors basketball club of Uganda, a battle between two FIBA Africa Zone-V teams at 15h00.

    Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo will test the might of host club, APR of Rwanda in group-A opening game at 17h00 while the last game of the opening day of basketball action will be between two Angola sides, Atletico Sports Aviation basketball club and Petro Atletico basketball club. A game which promises to be a thriller comes up at 19h00.

    ASPAC of Benin Republic and Kano Pillars of Nigeria are drawn bye in the ten-team competition.
