    RHODES (FIBA U19 World Championship for Men) – On Sunday, Nikos Pappas and Greece had their gold-medal dreams dashed by the United States in a thrilling final at the FIBA U19 World Championship for Men.

    Forty-eight hours later and seven of the silver-medalists had arrived in Rhodes to play for the national side that is hoping to win the U20 European Championship for Men.

    Pappas, the point guard who made the All-Tournament team in Auckland, Kostas Papanikolaou, Kostas Sloukas, Vlantimir Giankovits, Leonidas Kaselakis, Vaggelis Mantzaris and Zissis Sarikopoulos all played in New Zealand and have been named by coach Kostas Missas in his final 12-man squad for the Rhodes event.

    The U20 European Championship for Men tips off on Thursday.

    Greece are in Group B with Belgium, France and Italy.
