MADRID (ACB) - Tiago Splitter poured in 24 points as Tau Ceramica sent reigning Spanish champions Real Madrid tumbling to defeat in the second round of ACB action.
The Brazil international also added four rebounds and an assist as Tau, who lost to Akasvayu Girona last weekend, trounced Real 93-70 at the Fernando Buesa Arena.
Igor Rakocevic also scored 19 points for impressive Tau against his former club, while Mirza Teletovic contributed 17 points, a tally which included five three-pointers from seven attempts.
Real had just two players get into double figures in scoring, with Louis Bullock downing 21 points and Spain international Alex Mumbru adding 14 for Joan Plaza's defeated side.
Real's loss leaves just four unbeaten teams in the ACB following the first two weekends - DKV Joventut, CB Granada, AXA FC Barcelona and Akasvayu.
Local rivals Barca and Akasvayu both won on Saturday, but it is another Catalan side who head the early-season standings following DKV's 109-76 mauling of Grupo Capitol Valladolid on Sunday.
Demond Mallet paced DKV with 20 points, but he received good support from Spain ace Rudy Fernandez (17 points, three rebounds and six assists), Lubos Barton (14 points and five rebounds), Jan Jagla (12 points and 13 rebounds) and rising star Ricky Rubio (12 points).
CB Granada's second successive win came against Polaris World CB Murcia at home, who they beat 82-77 despite the visitors leading 22-15 after the first period and getting a massive 27 point-performance from Jimmie Hunter.
Sunday's other results saw Pamesa Valencia edge past Ricoh Manresa 88-80 and Cajasol - despite Tyrone Ellis pouring in 28 points - defeated at home by Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada 91-81.
