MIES (FIBA AmeriCup) - Twenty-five years ago, the most famous basketball team ever assembled introduced itself to the world in Portland, Oregon, at the FIBA AmeriCup 1992.
Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Chris Mullen, Scottie Pippen, Patrick Ewing, David Robinson and Christian Laettner ushered in a new era of the game by taking on Cuba and rolled to a 136-57 victory on June 28 1992.
The USA never looked back, winning all six of their games at the FIBA AmeriCup, which was then known as the Tournament of the Americas.
