Eight teams set for FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League Final
BUCHAREST (Romania) - After six stops from five different conferences, we now have our field for the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League Final taking place September 17-18, 2021.
The Nations League is a FIBA 3x3 national team competition for men and women under the age of 23 launched in 2017. 2021 marks the 4th edition. It offers an opportunity for future talents to hone their skills in preparation for the open category (FIBA 3x3 World Cup, Olympic Games, etc.). A record 28 teams competed in five different conferences this season. The winners of each conference, the two best teams in the tour standings (not yet qualified and combining all conferences) and the Romanian hosts will participate in the Bucharest final.
With all conferences finished the following teams have qualified:
Men
Host: Romania
Conference winners: Egypt, Russia, Lithuania, France, Lithuania U21
Best-ranked, non-conference winners: Poland, Israel
Women
Host: Romania
Conference winners: Egypt, Poland, Lithuania, France, Czech Republic U21
Best-ranked, non-conference winners: Mongolia, Netherlands
The pools for the Final were seeded based on the 3x3 U23 federation rankings.
Men
Pool A: Russia, Lithuania U21, Egypt, Romania
Pool B: Lithuania, France, Israel, Poland
Women
Pool A: Mongolia, Egypt, France, Czech Republic U21
Pool B: Netherlands, Romania, Lithuania, Poland
