Spain reveal 15 players pushing for a spot on the plane to Minsk

ISCAR (FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018) – Spain are assembling for a camp as they begin preparations for the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup, with head coach Miguel Angel Ortega utilizing 15 players.

The Perfumerias Avenida play-caller will go to work with the candidates during a four day gathering in Iscar, as they try to take a step up after missing out on a podium finish at the FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship last year.

However, despite not being able to harvest a medal at the event in Bourges, there were still plenty of positives – not least the way that frontcourt star Raquel Carrera caught the eye with her towering performances on French soil.

There were also plaudits for guards Helena Pueyo and Laura Mendez too, who are likely to feature prominently once again.

Spain will face Argentina, Hungary and New Zealand during the opening phase in Minsk.
