New trio for Maledon, Hayes and U16 European champs France at U17 World Cup

PARIS (FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018) - Head coach Lamine Kebe has called on a new trio of players to help Theo Maledon, Killian Hayes and the FIBA U16 European Championship 2017 winners at the FIBA U17 Basketball  World Cup 2018.

Kebe did not really need to make too many changes to a team that impressed thoroughly at the U16 European tournament. But the coach has added Malcolm Cazalon, Samuel Eyango Dingo and Mattieu Gauzan.

France roster for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018
Leo Billon Maxime Carene Malcolm Cazalon Timothe Crusol
Victor Diallo Melvyn Ebonkoli Samuel Eyango Dingo Mattieu Gauzan
Killian Hayes Theo Maledon Essome Miyem Lorenzo Thirouard

Cazalon joins the captain Maledon and the U16 European MVP Hayes in forming an absolutely deadly guard trio - matched perhaps only by the United States in the tournament.

The 6ft 9in (2.05m) Eyango Dingo gives Kebe a much-needed third low post presence to go along with the 6ft 10in (2.08m) duo of Maxime Carene and Essome Miyem.

And Gauzan is a point guard who will replace Anthony Da Silva, who along with Daniel Batcho and Louis Marnette were on the U16 team but will not be in Argentina for the tournament from June 30-July 8.

France will face off against hosts Argentina, Croatia and Philippines in Group D.
