TORONTO (2016 FIBA U17 World Championship) - Canada will show up at the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship with two of the country's next future stars as both Rowan Barrett Jr. and Simi Shittu were included on the North Americans' final 12-man roster.

Barrett and Shittu were Canada's two leading players on their run to the Final of the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Championship. The pair is expected to lead Canada in Zaragoza, where the country will face Australia, China and Finland in Group C.

There was some doubt if Shittu - the U16 team's second-leading scorer and top rebounder - would make the trip to Spain because he was not included on Canada’s list of 22 players invited to the training camp.

But Canada coach David DeAveiro selected the 2.05m tall player in his final roster, which features eight players returning from the U16 team.

New in the group will be Emmanuel Akot, Quincy Guerrier, Daniel Sackey and Stefan Smith.
