About the event

The FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships is the leading 3x3 event for U18 national teams and takes place in Astana, Kazakhstan on 1-5 June 2016.

The very best from around the world did battle in five different events: the men's 3x3 tournament, the women's 3x3 tournament, the Shoot-Out Contest (mixed), the Skills Contest (women) and last but not least the Dunk Contest (men).

Contrary to the "open" network of tournaments (which includes the FIBA 3x3 World Tour), players taking part in the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships do not create the team themselves, but instead are selected by their national federations to represent their countries.

In order to be eligible, players who compete in the 3x3 U18 World Championships must be registered on 3x3planet.com and have played in a minimum of two FIBA-endorsed 3x3 events by the time of registration.

All players must also be born after 1 January 1998 and have the nationality of the country they represent.

This is the fifth edition of the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships. For more information about 3x3 basketball, including events, rules and much more, visit fiba.com/3x3
