Mangilao (GUAM) – The FIBA Micronesian Cup 2022 is less than one month away with tickets for the Oceania event officially on sale.

All 16 games will be held at the University of Guam Calvo Field House on the east-coast of the nation from Wednesday June 8 through to Saturday June 11.

National teams from Palau, Northern Marianas Islands, Micronesia and Guam will feature every day of the tournament, with finals games on Saturday ultimately deciding who will continue their FIBA World Cup journey at the 2023 Pacific Games.

FIBA Executive Director – Oceania, Amanda Jenkins, said that the anticipation for this event is high as the first major basketball event in Oceania since the pandemic.

“The last event we held was in August 2019 with the Under 17 Oceania Championships contested in New Caledonia,” Jenkins said. “We can't wait to see national basketball back on courts across the region.

“We are excited that tickets are on sale for the inaugural FIBA Micronesian Cup 2022, it will be an amazing opportunity for the local community to watch the best male and female basketballers in Micronesia.”
