Israel leave it late to register first win to ignite Qualifiers campaign
TEL AVIV (FIBA EuroBasket Women 2019 Qualifiers) - Israel bounced back from their agonising opening defeat to pick up their first win with a thrilling 59-56 success against Portugal on Wednesday.
Alysha Clark finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds to help Israel overturn a 9-point deficit at half-time before Tal Lev netted the game-winner in the final seconds.

"I love the money time and I am happy that I had the chance to take the last shot to win the game," enthused Lev.
The other result in Group D saw Greece hold on for a 61-59 victory against Great Britain with 18 points for Eleanna Christinaki.
Group A
Montenegro were propelled to another win as Jelena Dubljevic netted 26 points and had 4 assists to lead her side past Bosnia and Herzegovina in a 76-55 victory.
Meanwhile, Zofia Hruscakova posted a 17-point, 14-rebound double-double as Slovak Republic beat Iceland 78-62 to level their current record at 1-1.
Group B
Belarus made it two wins from two as they eased to an 80-63 win behind Viktoryia Hasper’s 20 points in 18 minutes of action.
Joining them on a 2-0 start were Turkey as they defeated Poland 73-53 in Ankara. The home side recovered from a slow 9-16 start with a 26-point second period and were paced by Cansu Koksal’s game-high 14 points.

Group C
There was more heartbreak for Lithuania, in Moscow, as they suffered a 64-62 loss at the hands of Russia as late free-throw misses proved costly.
Gintare Petronyte led her side's second half fightback to finish with 19 points and 9 rebounds, but it was the home side who prevailed to move to 2-0.
Hungary picked up their second victory with an emphatic 137-48 win over Albania with 25 points for Dorina Zele, while Bernadett Hatar added 17 points and 11 boards.
Group E
Slovenia and France continued their strong starts to the campaign ahead of their anticipated showdown in February.
Eva Lisec narrowly missed out on a triple-double after posting 12 points, 13 rebounds and 9 steals in Slovenia's 97-57 victory at home to Finland, while Sandrine Gruda netted 23 points to lead France past Romania in an 87-45 success.
Group F
Spain completed a dominant window with a destructive 92-26 win against the Netherlands - holding their opponents to just 10 points in the second half. Marta Xargay led the rout with 22 points.
Alina Iagupova lit up Kyiv with a spectacular 41-point haul in a 94-44 victory for Ukraine over Bulgaria, whilst also adding 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks for an efficiency rating of 46.
Group G
Emma Meesseman starred again for Belgium with 31 points on 13-of-17 shooting in a 103-60 victory at home to Federal Republic of Germany.
Czech Republic maintained their unbeaten start with a convincing 62-35 win over Switzerland with a balanced scoring effort.
Group H
Bouncing back from an opening day loss, Croatia pulled off an impressive 71-83 triumph on the road against Italy.
Marija Rezan produced an astonishing display with 35 points and 13 rebounds to lead her side to an important victory.

Sweden enjoyed another win as Amanda Zahui posted another huge double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds in a comfortable 91-51 victory over The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
