Final Round comes closer as teammates meet and killer blows await

MUNICH (FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers) – The fourth game day of the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers is shaping up to be the most decisive yet.

Following Tuesday's one-off game when Spain host Bulgaria, all other action will be on Wednesday, where there are plenty of questions that need to be answered. Here's our pick:

Can Croatia deal a killer blow to Sweden?
Sweden slumped massively at home to Italy in a complex Group H and now an opportunity knocks for Croatia. The pressure will be on Sweden who know a loss is likely to be fatal and the visitors will be circling as they are aware there is blood in the water. Croatia won nicely in Italy last November and if they can now avenge a tight home loss to Sweden, they could be sitting pretty on Wednesday night. Watch out for Marija Rezan up against her ZVVZ USK Praha teammate Amanda Zahui!

Will Petronyte put Lithuania back on the path towards Qualification?
Lithuania are arguably the best placed team with a losing record in the entire competition. They are 1-2 but have only suffered the very narrowest of losses to Russia and Hungary by 2 and 3 points respectively. Now they have the ideal opportunity to move to 2-2 when they face Hungary. That would also put Hungary on 2-2 and a win might also see them grabbing a head-to-head. With the towering presence of Gintare Petronyte, they have a player who can dominate for them under the hoop and provide the platform for them to haul themselves back into the Qualification race.

Will it be a dream window for Slovak Republic?
Having won on the road against the odds and expectation against Group heavyweights Montenegro, can Slovak Republic make it a dream double when they host Bosnia and Herzegovina? Group A is suddenly looking a lot tighter, but three won't go into two, so this could be the most pivotal game of all for Slovak Republic. They lost by 12 in the reverse fixture, so a head-to-head will be difficult to achieve, but two wins puts them in a great spot heading into November's window. Stopping Marica Gajic who had 31 points and 16 boards against Iceland last Saturday will be top of the scouting report.

Which CCC Polkowice star will win the battle in Tel Aviv - Clark or Fagbenle?
Great Britain, Israel and Greece are all locked on 2-1. It is turning into the battle everyone expected in Group D and the next twist sees Israel host the Brits. Alysha Clark is in top form for Israel and has been outstanding, but she will know the quality of her CCC Polkowice teammate and WNBA champion, Temi Fagbenle. Who will have the greater influence in this encounter, which could potentially be one of the games of the day?

Who will move to the brink of punching that precious ticket to the Final Round?
There are five teams who are all still perfect and have an opportunity to jump to 4-0 and put one foot in the Final Round, but will need to wait at least one more game day before confirming their ticket. All eyes on Turkey, Russia, Slovenia, Spain and Czech Republic.
