Jones handed Top Performer honors after her electrifying debut

MUNICH (Germany) - There was much anticipation ahead of Jonquel Jones suiting up in the naturalized spot for Bosnia and Herzegovina for the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021 Qualifiers and she didn't disappoint in her first outing.

She was on fire and led her adopted country to a famous 70-69 triumph on Russian soil, where she is soon expected to return to play in EuroLeague Women for UMMC Ekaterinburg.

The WNBA powerhouse finished with 29 points and 16 rebounds, but will need to get the nod from supporters in our interactive vote below if she also wants to take the Fans' MVP accolade too.

Her competition in our line-up of stars from other nations who impressed on the first Game Day include Ivana Dojkic, who was immense for Croatia as they also celebrated a terrific win on their travels. They stormed past Latvia 83-65 with the guard adding 27 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds.

Great Britain are looking to build on what proved to be a historic summer after making the Semi-Finals at Final Round and they got off to a positive start by winning 75-63 in Poland. Eilidh Simpson stepped up on a superb shooting night as she made 82 percent from the field on her way to an 18-point haul, as well as 4 boards and 3 assists.

Laura Juskaite was unstoppable for Lithuania as they demolished Albania 108-43. She was on fire in the frontcourt  and amassed an all-action line of 18 points,10 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists.

Finally, Ashley Walker did the business for Romania as they outlasted Denmark 70-55 thanks mainly to her offering of 16 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists.
