Slovenia: History hunters confirm Final Round roster

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia) – Having made their first ever appearance at the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket only two years ago, Slovenia have announced the 12 players looking to raise the bar even further on their return to the event.

Their task on their second outing will be to make it past the Group phase for the first time and add another note of history as they continue to turn heads with their progress.

Slovenia  roster for FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2019
Nika Baric Merisa Dautovic Shante Evans Zala Friskovec
Teja Gorsic Tina Jakovina Aleksandra Kroselj Eva Lisec
Teja Oblak Annamaria Prezelj Eva Rupnik Marusa Senicar

As usual, much will hinge on backcourt duo and Euroleague Women Final Four 2019 attendees, Nika Baric who won the title with UMMC, and also Teja Oblak, who had an eye-catching campaign with ZVVZ USK Praha.

Backcourt depth is assured with the emergence of rising stars Annmaria Prezelj who  has improved nicely since her debut in 2017 , while the exciting Zala Friskovec will make her first appearance at Final Rund, having excelled at youth level and during the Qualifiers.

The real bonus for Slovenia is that Famila Schio center Eva Lisec is back firing on all cylinders again after some injury worries and has impressed in the preparation games, while the naturalized Shante Evans brings much needed additional firepower.

Slovenia will go up against Hungary, Italy and Turkey in Group C.
