FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Draw seedings announced

MUNICH (FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019) – The official seedings for the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Draw have been released, in anticipation of Wednesday's ceremony.

The seedings are based in equal part on the teams' performance at FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 and in the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers.

In instances where teams had the same average ranking, their final position at FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 served as tie-breaker.

The 16 participating teams will be drawn into four groups of four teams each. Host nations Latvia and Serbia had the right to choose a partner federation, which will play in the respective country, albeit in the opposite group. Latvia selected Sweden, while Serbia will welcome the team of Slovenia.

The Draw is set to take place in the City Hall of Belgrade at 13:00 CET on Wednesday, December 12, and can be followed live on the FIBA YouTube channel, as well as the FIBA Women's EuroBasket Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Former internationals Anete Jekabsone-Zogota and Natasa Kovacevic will assist with drawing the groups, representing the event's co-hosts.

FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 will take place from June 27 to July 7, with the Group Phase to be played in Latvian capital Riga and the Serbian cities of Nis and Zrenjanin, and the Final Phase to be held in Serbia's capital Belgrade.

FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 marks the 37th edition of the continental showpiece event, and will see 16 teams fight for the coveted title. The event is set to take place from June 27 to July 7, and will be co-hosted by Latvia and Serbia.
