Belgium: Announce final roster as they look to maintain momentum

BRUSSELS (Belgium) - Two years on from their first ever podium finish at Final Round, Belgium have announced the 12 troops who will fight it out to secure consecutive FIBA Women's EuroBasket medals.

They are one of the frontrunners for the tournament, although must firstly get past the so-called 'Group of Death', that includes a tough test against Belarus, Russia and co-hosts Serbia.

Belgium roster for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019
Julie Allemand Marjorie Carpreaux Antonia Delaere Kyara Linskens
Serena-Lynn Geldof Emma Meesseman Kim Mestdagh Hanne Mestdagh
Heleen Nauwelaers Jana Raman Julie Vanloo Ann Wauters

Belgium made the Semi-Finals of the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup last year in what was their maiden outing at the event and so certainly have confidence and momentum behind them.

That also applies on an individual basis too, with Emma Meesseman having won another EuroLeague Women title at UMMC, Kim Mestdagh having played in the WNBA for the first time, plus Julie Allemand winning the highly rated LFB Championship with Lyon ASVEL Feminin. She is just one of our must-watch debutantes.

Those three will be crucial as the spine of the team, while Julie Vanloo will bring big versatility in the backcourt alongside entertaining playmaker Marjorie Carpreaux. Meanwhile Antonia Delaere will provide control and quality on the wing and the rapidly improving Kyara Linskens will continue to shine in the paint, alongside the legendary veteran, Ann Wauters.
