FIBA is looking for the next iconic female voice in basketball – and it could be you!

MIES (Switzerland) - You may be among the millions of women who fell in love with basketball while watching the sport on television or listening to games on the radio.

If the players captured your imagination with their mesmerizing passes and buzzer-beating shots, to their audacious slam dunks and their game-saving blocks, the play-by-play commentators ramped up the excitement.

"Taurasi for threeeeeeeeeeeeeee … GOOD!"

Or maybe you heard, "Petrovic with a dagger!" or "Machida drives, scores and she’s fouled!"

FIBA knows there's a female commentator out there that has yet to be discovered. We're setting out to find that diamond in the rough, someone that will become a part of the commentating crew at international basketball events.

Determined to unearth that talent, here's your chance to join us through the contest aptly named She Calls Game

Whether you're a current commentator, sports presenter, social media content creator or just a fan of our great game, all that matters to us is that you can do what all great commentators do – enhance what’s on the court with your passion, expert knowledge and personality.

FIBA's experienced commentators will lead you through a training and mentoring program where we will work together to take your raw talent and turn it into a global voice for the game we love!

If you believe you've got what it takes to be the next female voice for the global hoops game, here's how you apply

The videos will be reviewed by a selection of judges with ten applicants shortlisted and invited to a second stage of the competition. It's at this stage of the competition where candidates’ commentating skill and talent will be put to the test.

The top candidate will have the chance to travel to the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 in Sydney, Australia where you will be an integral team member for the most exciting event in women’s basketball - with your commentary and play-by-play insights heard around the globe.

Wherever you are, this is your shot. Take it.  Be original, be yourself and show us your love and knowledge for basketball. It’s as simple as that to add your voice to the top echelons of the game's soundtrack.
