Sister act out to help India survive in top tier at FIBA Women's Asia Cup

NEW DELHI (India) - Survival and making the most of a second chance is the mission for India when they take to the court at the FIBA Women's Asia Cup in Amman.

After the celebrations of winning promotion from Division B in 2017, they found life tough two years later in the top tier, when they were unable to pick up a win at the 2019 edition.

However, after the decision not to impose relegation and leave Division A the same for this year in Jordan, it means that India will be able to take another shot at potentially extending their stay for longer amongst the Continents' elite nations.

India roster for the FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2021

Head coach Zoran Visic will be acutely aware of the scale of the task ahead and his roster includes sister act Pushpa and Sathiya Senthil Kumar, who join a tradition and exclusive list of siblings playing together at FIBA events.

However the main thrust for India is likely to come from longstanding leader Shireen Vijay Limaye who was a standout leader last time, topping her team's scoring and assists charts.

India will face Japan, Korea and New Zealand in Group A.
