The top performers of the 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup's Day 3

LEON (Mexico) – The third day of the 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup Group Stage had Venezuelan forward Daniela Wallen as the top performer after leading her country's comeback victory over Cuba in overtime, 106-85. Wallen had a 42 efficiency rating, the highest of the tournament so far, after scoring 34 points with 12 rebounds, 6 steals and 4 assists.

Her teammate, shooting guard Waleska Pérez, also had a memorable showing in what was Venezuela's first win over Cuba in the history of Women's AmeriCup. Pérez contributed 16 points, 7 boards, 12 dimes, 5 steals and a block. Her efficiency was 25.

 

Colombia's Jenifer Muñoz led her nation to a 70-56 triumph over Dominican Republic. The 32-year-old shooting guard, who was just named as the Most Valuable Player of the Women's South American Basketball League with Indeportes Antioquia, went off for 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal for an efficiency of 22.

For the second consecutive day, Canada's Kayla Alexander earned her place in this list. The center had a 21 efficiency thanks to a 12-point, 13-rebound double-double (with 2 assists and a steal) in their win against Puerto Rico, 84-47.

Former WNBA power forward Damiris Dantas was Brazil's ace of spades in their dramatic 56-55 over Argentina in the South American derby. On a game where offense was hard to come by, the former Minnesota Lynx player paced Brazil with 13 points and 5 rebounds.
