The Women's Basketball League Americas debuts in September

MIAMI (United States) - FIBA's Regional Office for the Americas announced the inauguration of the Women's Basketball League Americas (WBLA), a competition which will bring together the top women's clubs from the continent and will be played between September 15-November 5, 2023.

A total of eight teams from seven countries in the Americas will be part of this inaugural season: Centauros (MEX), Teporacas (MEX), Salvadoreñas (ESA), Indeportes (COL), Obras (ARG), Universidad de Chile (CHI), Félix Pérez (PAR), Malvín (URU).

The clubs will be divided into two groups, established by geographic location:

Group A - North

Centauros (MEX)
Teporacas (MEX)
Salvadoreñas (ESA)
Indeportes (COL)

Group B - South

Obras (ARG)
Universidad de Chile (CHI)
Félix Pérez (PAR)
Malvín (URU)

Group A (North), which will be hosted by Centauros in Chihuahua, Mexico, will be played from September 15 to 17. Group B (South) will be hosted by Obras, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, between September 22-24.
