Turkey's trimmed squad to play four-nations warm-up tournament
ISTANBUL (2016 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament) - Following a sweep of the two-game warm-up series against Nigeria at the weekend, Turkey head coach Ekrem Memnun is taking a 16-player squad to Belarus for a four-nation tournament as he looks to figure out his final 12-strong roster for the 2016 FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament (WOQT).
In Minsk, Turkey will take on the host nation Belarus and New Zealand - both of whom are also headed to Nantes, France for the WOQT - as well as the 2015 FIBA Asia Women’s Championship winners Japan from 2-4 June.

We will play with different teams. Right now, we're just looking to improve our game style. We want to continue winning and with discipline and without injuries hope to be ready for the WOQT. -Memnun
Turkey will travel to Nantes, France the stage of the 12-team WOQT, hoping to secure one of the five tickets for the Rio Olympics.
But first, they will need to pass their Group B test against Cameroon and Argentina. If they win a Quarter-Finals game, Memnun's team will ensure its return to the Olympics.
Memnun remains cautious: “We are trying to prepare the best way possible,” he said after Turkey’s 67-56 win against Nigeria.
