Lima announces Brazil's final roster for South American title defense

SAO PABLO (FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2019) – Brazilian Head Coach Carlos Lima, announced the 12 players who will represent Brazil in the South American Women's Championship 2018 from August 30 to September 4, in Tunja, Colombia.

"We have defined the 12 players that will represent Brazil in the competition, and the CBB Technical Commission and I believe in the team, who will fight to win the South American Championship," Lima said in the statement from the Brazilian Basketball Confederation.

"The training camp has been excellent, because the players are doing their best and the environment is very healthy, I am very happy to participate in this process, in which everyone is very committed, the group is prepared, conscious and determined, ready to look for a beautiful participation and try to win the title, which will be very important in the start of this new cycle", complemented Joao Camargo.

The national team will close on Monday its preparatory stage at Arena Concordia, the Training Center of the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB), in Campinas (SP) and will travel on Tuesday, to Colombia.

Brazil was drawn to Group A of the South American Women’s Championship and will begin its participation in the regional championship against Venezuela on August 30. Brazil will then face Paraguay and Chile, to close the Group Stage.

The best four teams from the South American Women’s Championship will qualify to the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2019.
