Argentina and Uruguay remain undefeated after Day 2

MONTEVIDEO (FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2019) – The National Teams of Argentina and Uruguay extended their record to 2-0 after capturing important wins during the second day of the South American U15 Championship.

Chile celebrated its first win of the South American U15 Championship after defeating Colombia 88-45. Chile dominated from the get-go and headed to the win. Chile was the top performer for the Chileans with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists.

Paraguay defeated Ecuador in a 61-60 nail-bitter. Federico Ferreira handed Paraguay the winner after scoring a free-throw with less than a minute to go. Elias Martinez was the top performer with 15 points and 7 assists.

Argentina extended to a 2-0 record after a 87-61 win over Venezuela. The Argentinians captured the lead during the first quarter and never let go. Jano David Martinez was the top performer for the Argentine with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.

Uruguay took the top of Group B after an impressive and exciting 66-63 win over Brazil. With 17 seconds left, Agustin Ubal scored two free-throws that gave Uruguay a three-point lead. Brazil was unable to catch-up and the Uruguayans celebrated the win. Nicolas Bessio was the top performer for the Uruguayans with 18 points and 5 rebounds.

On the last day of the Group Phase, Colombia vs. Argentina, Chile vs. Venezuela, Ecuador vs. Brazil and Paraguay vs. Uruguay.

The top three teams from the South American U15 Championship will qualify to the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2019.
