    CARACAS (South American Championship) – Bolivia got it first win of the 2016 South American Championship by defeating Ecuador, 75-74, in an overtime-classic.

    CARACAS (South American Championship) – Bolivia got it first win of the 2016 South American Championship by defeating Ecuador, 75-74, in an overtime-classic.

    • Turning Point: Tied at 66 after four quarters, the game needed overtime to determine a winner. With great defense on the last possessions and offensive effectiveness, Bolivia won overtime 9-8 to claim the victory over Ecuador.

    • Stats don’t lie: Bolivia won the battle for the rebounds 45-40.

    • Game Hero: Raul Salvatierra was a determining factor for Bolivia by accumulating a “double-double” of 16 points and 13 rebounds.

    • The Bottom Line: Bolivia claimed its second win in the history of the South American Championship and in doing so earned a spot in the game for seventh place. As a result, Bolivia will play for one of the last 4 spots to America’s Division A of FIBA’s New Competition System and Calendar to the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
