TV1 Samoa partners with FIBA to broadcast the 2018 Polynesia Cup

SAMOA (Polynesia Cup) – TV1 Samoa is the official TV broadcaster of the 2018 Polynesia Cup featuring Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, American Samoa, and the Cook Islands.

"TV1 is proud to bring the FIBA Polynesia Basketball Cup, 2018 to Samoa. An event of this magnitude requires substantial resources, expertise, and experience. TV1 has the resources to meet the requirements. Our mission is "to connect a global audience with triumphs and spirit of the FIBA Polynesia Basketball Cup tournament and with stories of Samoa as a Host country," TV1 Samoa Chief Operations Officer, Faiesea Matafeo said. 

TV1 Samoa will show two (2) LIVE full games per day and 2 games delayed broadcast while also providing the feed for live stream for FIBA's YouTube channel.

“FIBA is very pleased to partner with TV1 to have these games broadcast both within Samoa and to the world. TV1 are an experienced broadcaster, and we hope that this will be the beginning of a fruitful and long-lasting partnership between basketball and TV1.” FIBA Competitions Manager, Amanda Jenkins said.

"We are extremely happy to team up with TV1 Samoa in bringing the Polynesia Cup to the basketball fans of Samoa. The supporters of our national team will get to watch and follow the games of our players." Samoa Basketball Federation, President Tala Pauga said.

The tournament will serve as the qualifiers to the 2019 Pacific Games Basketball discipline which Samoa will also host next year.

The Polynesia Cup will run on November 18-24 featuring both the Men's and Women's Competition.
