Jonas Kazlauskas is one of the most successful coaches in Lithuanian basketball. At the head of Zalgiris Kaunas, he won four LKL titles in six years. He also led the club to the top of Europe. He claimed the Saporta Cup in 1998 and triumphed in the Euroleague the following year. In 2001, he joined Zalgiris' rival Lietuvos rytas and won the LKL title in his first year.

After two and a half seasons, he resigned and was hired by Olympiakos in November 2004. Kazlauskas coached the Lithuanian Cadets National Team and the Lithuanian Juniors National Team before being named the assistant coach of the Seniors in 1996. He took the reins of the team the next year. In 2000, the Lithuanian National Team nearly beat the United States in semi-final of the Sydney Olympics before claiming the bronze medal. In 2004, he was hired by the Chinese Federation to be Del Harris' assistant before being named head coach the following year. Kazlauskas' mission is to win the gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
