Italy's Polonara wins the TISSOT MVP award in Belgrade
BELGRADE (Serbia) - Italy's Achille Polonara earned the TISSOT MVP at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Belgrade after leading his team with a career-defining performance in Final to qualify Italy for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The skilled forward stepped up with 23 points and a terrific three-point shooting, going 6-from-8 from downtown. He added 12 rebounds (9 defensive, 3 offensive), 2 assists and 2 steals. His total efficiency score was 32, and his plus-minus was at plus 22.

He finished Belgrade's OQT tournament with 17.3 points per game, 9.3 rebounds and a superb 69.2 field goal percentage across an average 29.2 minutes per game inside Aleksandar Nikolic Hall.
"I feel great. We beat a great team, in Belgrade, in front of their fans," Polonara said after the game. "It was a challenging game for us, but we did an incredible job. I really don't care about the MVP award, I care only about going to Tokyo."
